With the finite element method, production line heat transfer and non-linear plastic forming behaviours are modeled with open source applications. These models developed were commissioned on the scada PC of the production line and started to give feedback to the production line depending on the real-time production data. With the system commissioned, production variability was checked and managed with zero investment costs without any need to install industrial automation requiring high investment costs. Thus, the production line has started to be improved in a sustainable way with raw materials, production line efficiency, energy consumption, and quality-oriented development.
The inner body of the refrigerator is produced with a certain wall thickness with the safety coefficient by taking production line variability into consideration. In total, approximately 30 thousand tons of raw materials are imported from abroad. With this approach, 5% improvement was achieved in the use of raw materials at the GTF63 line.
The cycle of the production line has been improved by 14%. The production line's cycle is decreased, its energy consumption indicators are improved by 19%, and its quality data is improved by 40%.
